About us

Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia

Haaga-Helia Hospitality Compentence Center in Estonia answers the needs and changes in the current and future business environments in Hospitality and Toursim business. The main goal is to be present in Estonian hospitality know-how and education market.

Key operations are hospitality Business Trainings (short courses and seminars), supporting degree programme delivery as well as project-based research and development. Haaga-Helia is also establishing a partnership network, Hospitality Insiders Club, which gathers hospitality managers together and introduces to the latest trends and operational concepts in the business.

Study year 2015-2016 is a pilot period for the above mentioned activities. Operations are located mainly in Estonian Business School premises.


Haaga-Helia is one of the largest Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland with more than 10,500 students and is the largest hospitality and tourism business educator in Scandinavia. Beside that information technology, journalism, management assistant training, sports management and vocational teacher education are Haaga-Helia’s fields of education as well.

Being part of Finnish public educational system, Haaga-Helia is privately run but steered and co-funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. Haaga-Helia is fully licensed and programmes are accredited by Finland’s Ministry of Education.

Through education, research and development, Haaga-Helia prepares professionals for business and services. We offer our students a versatile choice of studies, great opportunities for specialisation, high-quality education in Finnish and English, and wide business networks even during the studies.

Our more than 700 faculty and specialists are all experts in their field with extensive theoretical background and work experience. Hospitality and Tourism Management faculty represents various sectors of the industry, are multilingual and CHE (Certified Hospitality Educator by AHLEI (The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute)) certified.

With more than 1,100 international students the working environment of Haaga-Helia is truly international and multi-cultural. Our international academic network consists of over 190
partner universities and more than 40 leading international companies and organisations from different industries.

Haaga-Helia has 5 campuses - 3 in Helsinki (Haaga, Malmi and Pasila) and 2 outside Helsinki (Porvoo and Vierumäki).

Estonian Business School (EBS) is the oldest privately owned business university in the Baltics and offers degrees at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels as well as open courses, development programmes and management training.
EBS enjoys a growing reputation as a provider of excellent, practice-based and academically rigorous education to local as well as international students. EBS has over 70 partner universities all around the world.
In 2011 EBS launched a branch in Helsinki which is located in modern Technopolis Ruoholahti. EBS Helsinki offers distance study programmes on the Bachelor´s and Master´s level.  Students at EBS Helsinki study International business administration in English and specialize in marketing and communication and entrepreneurial finance on Bachelor level and in Leadership and Change management on Master´s level.
